What to do the week before Christmas...

I imagine most people are rushing around trying to get things prepared, wrapped, bought, whatever. I am done with knitting, all gifts wrapped, all snacks etc bought for the trip to the casino/hotel and all I have to finish on Saturday is Rice Krispie squares, fudge, and some frosted sugar cookies to take. The fudge is the only one I make, off the marshmallow creme jar, best I have ever found, easiest and less likely to get grainy as it blends well and not a lot of having to test etc. I make milk chocolate fudge. The cereal bars, are of course a snap and I fudged and bought the little "coins" of sugar cookie dough, canned frosting and sprinkle stuff for the top. I had too much knitting to get finished to do a lot of holiday baking this year and since the kids aren't all together it goes to waste sometimes. We will be going to Indiana for our new grandbaby's first Christmas next year so I will be sure and make a bunch of stuff to take to my son. He loves my kieflies and fudge.

I am putting yarn to needle to make myself a new handbag. I am using a self striping yarn, but a solid as well so it will be interesting how it comes out. It is a felted one so I think the blending will be good for this. I am anxious to get started on it

It is a cloudy day outside today, though it is supposed to be warm. I sure hope the rain holds off until the guy from UPS picks up my package outside. I am going to be busy including having the vacuum run so I don't want to have to worry about missing him so I just put it out on the deck with a note to be picked up.I guess I should be thinking what to do for my sister for her birthday in April. They live in Southern California so a sweater has to be lightweight and I don't know if I am experienced enough to do anything with more expensive yarn. I may look into something though. I am also rolling around ideas for another baby blanket.

Time is a wastin' and I have lots of chores to do today....

Yes, I am one of those unfortunates who are rushing around doing last minute shopping...and then there's still all the wrapping to do, the deep housecleaning, the grocery shopping...arrrgh! Would you mind giving me lessons next Christmas on getting it all done two weeks before the holiday? Lol!

Hope you have a great day!
