What to do when your face looks like a pig...

Brother, I woke up this morning and my face is swollen and red from my forehead to my chin. I have Pig eyes this morning. I put an ice pack on it and will do so again when I get finished here. I have so much I want to get done today but I have to get this swelling down. I don't know exactly what caused it, but if it isn't better later today I may need to go to the emergency room and get it checked out. Doesn't stuff always happen on holidays and weekends? My husband hasn't come downstairs yet. He is gonna freak out!

Well, tomorrow starts Jack and I's diet and Treadmill program. I have to help Jack get about 35 lbs off and I have 200 to sweat off me. I want to lose 100 this year and 100 next, which is decent and safe. I am tired of being so stupid. I am a fat person who has no issues being fat, I just am just addicted to junky foods I guess. When I do this though, I do it whole heartedly and that is what I am going to do. I am going to get it off, get healthier and be ready to have fun in Vegas in August. I have even been thinking about how to deal with lunch with the Red Hat every month, going to Indiana in April for the Baby Shower and then in June for the Baby . We eat out a lot then so I have to be sure and control it. One thing is full sugar soft drinks go out the door. Do you know that I had quit them for a whole year then let them sneak back into my life? Sheesh what an idiot Bag Head , as Hermione Granger would say!

I am coming along on another red hat and the baby's blanket. My yarn and stuff for my sister's and my dd's sweaters will be here next week and I can get started on them. The shell pattern I wanted sold out so I found another one FREE, which you can't beat! I am going to tear out the too big shrug and make it out of that. It is a very beautiful soft green and will make a nice shell, then I am going to make a silver shawl to go with it instead of the silver shell and colored shawl. I also was a bad girl and went ahead and ordered that beautiful teal and purple yarn for my sweater. It will have to wait until the other projects get finished, but I hope to get it and the tank done before vacation time.

My dirty house is calling for me to come help it, so I better get the chores done and get the morning going.

Happy New Year!

To Market, To Market to Fight all the Crowds

Today is the dreaded commissary day. Whoa For those of you not in the know, the commissary is the military Shopping 2 grocery store. Here in Memphis, it is full of Grandma Grandpa all pushing their carts, blocking the aisles, fighting with each other and running you over with their darn scooters! I mean, I am one of these Grandma too I guess, but I am not rude. Some of the old guys will run you down!

Ok, smiley overload! Scared 1

On top of the grocery stuff, my husband is sick and I like to baby him when he isn't feeling well. He has a bad sore throat, (he just got over a cold about 3 weeks ago with a sore throat) so I am trying to nip it in the bud. I have a secret sore throat remedy that actually works. Supplied to those who ask for it! It sounds bad, but it doesn't taste that bad and it works and that is what is good about it. I found it in an old medical remedies book and it is like 100 years old, but who cares since it works. He is doped with Nyquil right now so he will sleep some. I however, got up at 3 AM to make him this drink stuff so I am up until I go to the commissary at 8:30.

I have found another couple patterns for me, actually, and yarn for them both. I think the shell will be another nice evening wear top for clubs and such in Vegas. I am not ordering the stuff quite yet, though. If you haven't ever checked out elann.com, you should. They have some beautiful stuff and great prices.

This color yellow looks good on my too, so I think it will be great, sans the stupid ribbon. I think I am a little old for the ribbon accents. The sweater is beautiful all by itself without it. I don't know how difficult these are to knit, but I am going to figure it out that is for sure. The patterns comes from Vermont Fiber Design and they have sizes up through 6X on their patterns so it fits large women. I plan on being some smaller by next summer/fall, so I am going to make the shell smaller and the other one I won't start until fall or winter anyway.
My grandson wore this sweater I made him for Christmas on Tuesday and really liked it. His mom said he looked great in it too. My Beatle's sweater, unfortunately, was way too short on him so she is taking the buttons and patch off and putting them on a blue jean jacket for him. The blue sweater is to small also and it was my first foray into knitting and one sleeve is a bit shorter than the other so I think that one is a GoodWill gift. I don't want the yarn as I hated knitting with it in the first place and traded the stash of it I had. I certainly don't want it back.
Well sounds like the Laundry is ready for the dryer so off I go to get it done and start on the baby blanket pattern! Hope it comes off without a hitch. At least, at this hour of the morning I won't be interrupted by the phone so I lose my place.
Until tomorrow friends.....

Continued on the next page!

I thought I would forget if I didn't post this and I just had to post this yarn. I found it at elann.com and fell in love with it. Didn't hurt that it is a bargain at $2.85 a skein either. I am going to use the same pattern as I am using to make my sister's sweater except to adjust the size and gauge a bit
for me. I love purple and look good in it so I thought it would be perfect to make a sweater. Wear it with a pair of white pants, some cute sandals and it makes a perfect dinner or club outfit for Vegas.

Oh and just for my blogger friend, Mardi, here is the patterns for the baby blanket. This is the border of seed stitch and the middle is a heart pattern. I got it from that Knitter's Bible I told you about yesterday. I only did one set of patterns so it is kind of hard to see, but you can get the idea.

Tata for now! Hello

Thank you...Thank you very much...

Famous 27
I have been successfully working on pattern knitting. I have been fooling around trying to find the right pattern for a baby blanket I am making for my grandbaby to be. I have actually succeeded at a couple of them that are fairly easy, but I think I am going to go with a heart pattern as that fits in so well with the baby blanket. It is such a sweet yellow, but not as soft as I like. I think I will get some liquid softner and wash it when it is finished and see if that helps. The skeins feel soft, but the knitted product doesn't. Maybe it is just me.
My husband may just skin me alive! Nervous He told me I couldn't buy these adorable Ralph Lauren newborn sandals because they were $42 so I decided I would get the baby this stuff instead. It depends on whether it is a girl or boy as to which of this stuff I buy. He just said, no sandals at $42 and none of this stuff individually costs that! Na-na-na-na

I can't wait to hear whether they are having a boy or a girl! I would so love them to have a little boy then I don't care.
I guess I should go back to bed. Five o'clock comes around fast. I haven't decided whether to keep the car or not today. I am vacillating all over the place. Ummm I just hate to have to shower and take Jack to work so early, but I would like to do a couple errands. On the other side of the coin, they can wait until tomorrow... I Dunno
Smiley Choir Tomorrow, tomorrow, I'll see you tomorrow......

Heigh Ho the Dairy O A Frogging We Will Go...

Walking Garbage Can That is what I think of my last attempt at a stitch pattern. I am so clueless it is pathetic! Ah well, I have learned a huge amount about patience this way, which is good .

I am going to knit my sister a sweater for her birthday in April. She lives in S Calf so I wanted something short sleeved and cool. So here goes with a pic of the sweater and the yarn I chose for her. She has dark hair like the model and a tannish/lt olive complexion so I think it will look great! No, you are not seeing things! I had to scan this in and put it in the scanner
crooked and am too lazy to do it over.

I am also doing a sweater for my dd to replace the shrug that was too big. I chose this yarn and pattern. She is a redhead so I thought the amber/gold color would look good on her.

I found the perfect buttons, but they are sold out, darn it so I will just keep an eye out for them to restock. They are online though so I hate to just order the buttons and pay all that shipping for 5 buttons!
My last day of cleaning for the week and I am done. I have the upstairs vacuuming and dusting to do. That is a snap. Hopefully, one of these days we can replace the carpet with hardwood floors. I do hate carpeting with pets.
I just put all my purse junk into the new felt handbag. I may need a flashlight to find stuff, but there is plenty of room in there! Clapping Hands Wonder if I will get any comments from people. It is kind of a far out handbag.
I believe what I am now doing is called stalling so I better Vacuuming Dusting
And that's the way it was, Thursday, December 28th, 2006....
