More Boogas!

Here are two more. The blue and purple one is for the other granddaughter of my best friend and the cool big one in rainbow colors is mine all MINE!!!! I think I am going to use maybe a velcro closer at the top of my bag, or snaps or something to keep it closed but I just love it!

Newest project finished!

I just finished the booga bag for my best friend's granddaughter and started one for the other granddaughter. They are only 6 months apart (biological and other one is step) so they pretty much like the same things. I had leftover yarn so whipped this up driving to Indiana. I think it turned out really great and I think kids that age will love the charms and the fact they can change them out as they wish because I attached them with a lobster clasp. It is smaller than it looks about 8 inches across and down. The one for Lindsay is blue, green brown colorways and I think she will like it. Her favorite colors are blue and green and it was the best combo I could find.
Here is a pic of the stuff all together. The lion yarn is for Lindsay with the angel charms and the Noro is for me to eventually make a bag when I get time. Tom's yarn should be in tomorrow so I can start on his birthday sweater. I need to get Lindsay's bag done too because I promised to send it to them before the start school in August so lots of knitting for me. I will have to put aside T's sweater until these other two are done then start his mom's sweater for her birthday, which is in November and her handbag for Christmas.

It's good to be the king, well queen....

Since it is my blog, I can bore you all to death with more photos! Thought I would show you some comparison shots. One of our older grandson Thomas as a baby, one of Jackson's dad at two weeks old and Jackson.
This is Thomas at about a year old:
This is a picture of my son Jay and he was two weeks old in this pic: This is Jackson at 3 days old
I am knitting up a storm. I have a pink and white striped booga almost done, one I have to start, a sweater for my son in law I have to have done before August 16 for his birthday, Thomas's sweater and hat for Christmas, a booga for my dd and a sweater for her birthday. I also bought some Noro to make myself a bag, but who knows when that will happen. Not until all the assorted gifts are done, that is for sure.

More pictures of Jackson

He got ahold of his thumb and sucked for a couple seconds, but preferred sucking nonny's finger instead.

We have a new grandson!

Jackson Nolan Wilkinson IV made his appearance on Sunday at 1:41 PM. He weighed 10 lbs 10 ounces and is 23 1/2 inches long. He is a really beautiful little guy, but judge for yourself!
We put him in the hoodie I made and it sure won't be long before it fits him!

Same o' Same o'

Still here in Elvis land and not in Notre Dame country like we would like to be. We are going to be proactive though and take Fortune to the kennel today so that if she goes and it is at night we don't have to take him. We are keeping our fingers crossed. I guess worst case is she doesn't go this weekend or the first of the week and we go get him again and just have wasted the money.

Here is the completed booga bag. I think it turned out really well and I hope my greatniece likes it. Her open house is today, but we aren't going to make that so I am just going to get things and put it together and take it to her when we go to Indiana whenever that is (she lives the same town as my son and dil) This is my newest project, a sweater for Thomas for Christmas. I have never done striping before, but it is coming along great! I love the colors.

Everyone have a grand weekend.

Jackson plans on waiting until college to emerge from the womb....

We are still waiting of course. I cannot imagine what the poor thing must be feeling at this moment. I am planning on calling her later this morning to see how she is doing and to find out what they are going to do by the end of next week for sure if she hasn't delivered.
I just finished my first booga bag and here is a picture of it on its box drying. This was one of the easiest things I have ever knit up and I can't wait to try it with Noro yarns as they are so beautiful.
This is going to be a graduation gift for my grandniece for graduating from high school. Her open house is tomorrow in the same town as my son and dil, but at this point we are going to miss it I imagine. We can't spare the vacation time to go up there early. I am going to fill it with Bath and Body goodies and gift certificates like a spa one etc.

I have begun the next project. It is going to be a sweater for Thomas for Christmas. It is this yarn and this pattern. Being a redhead, red would not be good and his favorite color is blue and blue looks fabulous on him so I think this will do well.

I guess I should get back to knitting. I am keeping one eye on the phone and that isn't good. Thank goodness I have knitting to keep me occupied!

Until next time,

We haven't given up Hope....

That baby sure is giving everyone a run around. We are still waiting for news to take the trip up north. I know my poor dil has to be just fit to be tied. She is tired, swollen, and is wanting to give birth. She is now 2 days past her due date and he is still hanging on.

I finished up the baby's hooded sweater. I am including a picture of the buttons I used because I think they are so cute. This was a fast knit, but seaming was a pain because of the tiny stitches and the baby yarn. I think it turned out cute though I am not sure I can keep it until Christmas. I am afraid he might not fit into it so I am going to just take it to Indiana when we go and give it to her. He will be able to wear it this fall anyway. This was yarn I received in a yarn swap with people at the knitting site I belong to. The woman who had my name knew I had a new grandson coming and bought this yarn for me. It is Bernat Baby Softee.

We are now exactly three months until we go to Vegas. I have pretty much everything either paid for or arranged now, airline tickets bought, show tickets bought, car reserved, hotel reservation made and deposit paid for, everything else is just cash for food, souvenirs, etc that we take with us. We sure could use the vacation. This baby business has taken its toll on us old folks. Maybe if we lived closer to them it wouldn't be such an issue, but with a 600 mile drive ahead of us, it is a bit stressful.
Nothing else much going on. I haven't gotten to get into the pool once this season because I don't like leaving the phone unattended with the baby business and all. I haven't even been walking because I am not sure they would call my cell phone or Jack's for that matter if they can't get us at home. So, I guess I will just start swimming after we get back, whenever that might be. He has to come sooner or later!
Until next time, TTFN....
