To Market, To Market to Fight all the Crowds

Today is the dreaded commissary day. Whoa For those of you not in the know, the commissary is the military Shopping 2 grocery store. Here in Memphis, it is full of Grandma Grandpa all pushing their carts, blocking the aisles, fighting with each other and running you over with their darn scooters! I mean, I am one of these Grandma too I guess, but I am not rude. Some of the old guys will run you down!

Ok, smiley overload! Scared 1

On top of the grocery stuff, my husband is sick and I like to baby him when he isn't feeling well. He has a bad sore throat, (he just got over a cold about 3 weeks ago with a sore throat) so I am trying to nip it in the bud. I have a secret sore throat remedy that actually works. Supplied to those who ask for it! It sounds bad, but it doesn't taste that bad and it works and that is what is good about it. I found it in an old medical remedies book and it is like 100 years old, but who cares since it works. He is doped with Nyquil right now so he will sleep some. I however, got up at 3 AM to make him this drink stuff so I am up until I go to the commissary at 8:30.

I have found another couple patterns for me, actually, and yarn for them both. I think the shell will be another nice evening wear top for clubs and such in Vegas. I am not ordering the stuff quite yet, though. If you haven't ever checked out elann.com, you should. They have some beautiful stuff and great prices.

This color yellow looks good on my too, so I think it will be great, sans the stupid ribbon. I think I am a little old for the ribbon accents. The sweater is beautiful all by itself without it. I don't know how difficult these are to knit, but I am going to figure it out that is for sure. The patterns comes from Vermont Fiber Design and they have sizes up through 6X on their patterns so it fits large women. I plan on being some smaller by next summer/fall, so I am going to make the shell smaller and the other one I won't start until fall or winter anyway.
My grandson wore this sweater I made him for Christmas on Tuesday and really liked it. His mom said he looked great in it too. My Beatle's sweater, unfortunately, was way too short on him so she is taking the buttons and patch off and putting them on a blue jean jacket for him. The blue sweater is to small also and it was my first foray into knitting and one sleeve is a bit shorter than the other so I think that one is a GoodWill gift. I don't want the yarn as I hated knitting with it in the first place and traded the stash of it I had. I certainly don't want it back.
Well sounds like the Laundry is ready for the dryer so off I go to get it done and start on the baby blanket pattern! Hope it comes off without a hitch. At least, at this hour of the morning I won't be interrupted by the phone so I lose my place.
Until tomorrow friends.....
