The recital was a huge success even if my behind didn't think so. We had to sit on metal folding chairs and everyone was pretty miserable sitting in them for over 2 hours. Thomas played fourth, had "mastered" his Fur Elise, and did a marvelous job. I saw one of the dad's about 2 rows up from us look at his wife and mouth, "He's pretty good isn't he?" so of course that made Nonny's chest puff up! I felt so sorry for their little girl, who played her violin. She was about 3/4 way through and I think lost her place then got confused and finally recovered, but when she came back to her parents to sit down, she was sobbing like her little heart would break. She did a really good job and I wanted to catch her before they left to tell her so but I didn't get to them in time.
We came home, Jack took a nap, I ran a bunch of errands including getting more yarn so I can get that durn blanket finished, then back out to go to his crossover ceremony for Cub Scouts. They had it out in the heat and it was horrible. Jack and I moved into the shade of the corner of the church and pretty soon there was a whole group of us up there. Thomas is now officially out of Tiger scouts and is a Wolf. He even won one of the door prizes, they call early birds, though all the kids get a ticket and the cubmaster was half an hour late! My sil is going to be cubmaster next year and that seems so unlike him. He is not a very gregarious person and you kind of have to be for that job. I know he will be great at it though.
Today, I am going to breakfast with my dd for mother's day, then back to the house, change into work clothes and clean the downstairs while Jack watches NASCAR and listens to the CUBS game at the same time, more than likely.
I didn't get my box for mother's day from my son and dil yet. I know that Jay will call today and will be miffed that it didn't get here. I am sure it will be here the first of the week.
To you all!
